Rules Explained

Crawford rule (match play only): The first game when a player is within one point of winning the match, no doubling is permitted. Doubling is possible in the match after the Crawford game

Jacoby rule (cash games only): This is a rule agreed by both players prior to the game commencing, whereby gammons and backgammons will only count for one point if no doubling has occurred during the game.

Doubling: Using the doubling cube, you can double the stakes at any time in the game, prior to rolling the dice. Doubling is not possible in the first round. Doubling will be limited depending on the amount of money brought into the game (game limit).

Beaver: This is a rule agreed by both players prior to the game commencing, whereby upon doubling, your opponent may re-double straight away and retain ownership of the cube. If original doubler refuses the beaver, they will forfeit the game.
